The Philips VoiceTracer 1070 is a compact and affordable audio recorder designed for everyday voice recording needs. With its intuitive interface, monochrome segment display, and essential features, it offers users a simple yet effective way to capture audio on the go.
Scope of work
For this project, I was deeply involved across multiple disciplines—from initial coordination to product launch. Key responsibilities included:
- Product design coordination
Collaborated closely with the product designer to align on hardware aesthetics and user interface elements. - Interface & usability design
Developed the button print layout, designed the segment display graphics, and crafted a usage concept tailored for the firmware team to ensure intuitive navigation and ease of use. - Firmware collaboration
Worked hands-on with firmware developers, tested beta samples, and provided iterative feedback to fine-tune the user experience. - Packaging & artwork
Created the packaging concept and artwork design, ensuring visual consistency and shelf appeal. - Go-to-market activities
Supported the product launch by developing key marketing assets, including a product leaflet, marketing website content, and materials for launch campaigns.

Final outcome
The Philips VoiceTracer 1070 is currently in development, with beta testing in progress and ongoing collaboration between design, firmware, and development teams.
