Redesigning the recording experience – from UX concept to go-to-market strategy

The Philips VoiceTracer 2110 / 4110 / 6110 series represents a complete redesign of the VoiceTracer product line, built from the ground up to offer a more intuitive and versatile recording experience. Featuring a new activity-based recording concept, color display, best-in-class recording quality, and remote control and file transfer via mobile app, this product range was designed to meet the needs of users seeking both simplicity and advanced functionality.

Scope of work

My involvement spanned the full development cycle, working closely with the product and business management team to bring this product family to life. Key responsibilities included:

  • UX and interaction design
    Co-created a user experience and interaction design in collaboration with the product manager, focusing on an intuitive flow that supports the new recording scene-based concept.
  • Release testing
    Tested beta samples and provided continuous feedback to firmware developers to refine the user experience and ensure alignment with the design vision.
  • Packaging & artwork
    Developed the initial packaging concept and began planning artwork design to support a visually cohesive and appealing product presentation.
  • Go-to-market activities
    Contributed to go-to-market planning, including drafting ideas for the product leaflet, marketing website, and launch activities to support a successful release.
